Last Sunday was Daxton's baby blessing.
We are so grateful to all the friends and family who came to help us celebrate the special occasion. Dallas gave a beautiful blessing for our baby boy. It was so sweet to see several of the priesthood holders in our family join Dallas in the circle. It has been a difficult journey starting our little family, but holding our precious boy in our arms makes all those trials seem distant. We feel so incredibly blessed not only to have our sweet Daxton, but to be surrounded by friends and family who also want to share in our joy.
One of Dallas' best friends and former roommates from college, Jason, joined us even with the chaos of moving his family up to Washington. It was so fun to see the Lymans again and are so excited for their next big adventure in Seattle.
Our cousins Greg and Heidi also came. Greg and Dallas were roommates when I first met Dallas. Heidi and I both lived in Utah and dated Dallas and Greg long distance for several months. It was so much fun visiting the bay area while being engaged and always having a double date couple to hang out with. We both ended up getting married within a month of each other in the summer of 2008. We wish we could see them more often, but life just seems to get in the way sometimes.
My parents and youngest brother, Bradley, flew down from Washington to snuggle with our little guy. It was so fun to see Bradley again. He recently returned from a two year mission in Brazil and this was the first time I had been able to see him since he got home. My parents also were able to pick up Oscar from Stanford for the weekend. He's a good family friend from back home, so it was so nice of him to take a break from the craziness of college to hang out with our family.
Dallas' parents flew in from Wyoming and his little sister, Ashleigh, and her daughter, Brynnlee, flew in from Utah. Unfortunately we don't get to see them very often, so it was so nice to be able to have them visit for a week. We're excited for when Daxton is a little older and can play with his cousin Brynn. We had a really fun week with them and will post about our adventures soon.
After the blessing we all went out to Erik and Heather's house for a family lunch. The kids loved being able to hold "baby Daskin", especially Will. We finally found a way that he could hold him safely...with a little help from Uncle Dallas.
Thank you all for helping us celebrate such a beautiful experience with our little family. We feel so blessed to be surrounded by such supportive and loving family and friends. Daxton has brought such a joy to our lives that I'm not sure how to put it all into words. We sure do love our little man!
