Orlando with Stokers: Sea World

The next day, Kate and I decided to hang out at Sea World.
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm an avid fan of Sea World.  I absolutely LOVED our adventures in San Diego and was super excited to see how things compared in Florida.  One thing that I had to get used to right away, was Florida's rainy season.  Throughout the summer and fall it is extremely common for massive rainstorms to move through, only lasting 15-20 minutes at a time.  The best way to explain it, is one minute being dry and within a few seconds feeling as if you had just walked through a high pressure watering hose.  It was one of those things you just have to love and accept, which is why my hair has not been fixed for months now!

Entering Sea World we were able to meet "Shamu" whom Daxton immediately fell in love with.  He nuzzled right into the plush costume and wanted him to hold him.  He was not very happy when we had to say goodbye.

Our first stop was the Shamu show.  We arrived about 15 minutes early with Drue and Daxton both asleep in their strollers.  Shamu stadium has a designated spot for strollers with sleeping babies, which I found to be ingenious!  The boys slept right up to the point where Shamu came leaping out of the water.

A happy rested Drue, Tommy, and Kate.

A bit more difficult trying to take pictures of the show while holding a tired toddler.

When the music started all three boys jumped up to the ledge and began dancing.  It was pretty cute and we loved their "matching" outfits.

Right as the show finished a massive downpour began, catching several exiting attenders.  We decided to wait it out under the stadium rood.  It's crazy how hard and quick the rain can come.  Kate, being the super mom that she is, was highly prepared with towels, a couple umbrellas, and of course...Diet Coke :)

After eating lunch, we headed over to the antarctica exhibit to see the penguins.  We were caught in another rainstorm along the way, but managed to stay partly dry from Kate's umbrellas.

The antarctica ride was pretty amazing, but FREEZING.  Throughout the course of the ride the temperature drops to the normal temp found in the penguins' natural habitat.  We of course were in wet shorts and tshirts, so we did not stay too long to observe them.

We were also able to visit several different aquariums found throughout the park.  The boys all had a blast watching the different animals.  I love that Daxton loves sea life so much.  I swear I could spend all day just observing the beauties under the ocean and I love that Daxton seems to have that same passion.  Needless to say, it was a perfect rest of the day at Sea World!

After our adventurous day, we all headed back to the hotel for another swim party.  Daxton LOVES the water and never gets tired of swimming.  His big thing now is blowing bubbles, which scares me to death, because he puts his whole face in the water to do so.  I have to make sure I'm right there next to him every time, because sometimes he forgets that he can't breath under water!
In other news, he will be entering swim lessons very soon!
