This year's July 4th turned out to be a whole day of fun adventures. Since Dallas wasn't working we decided to spend the morning at Dania Beach. The waves were extremely calm and it was perfect to help Daxton feel more confident swimming with his floaties. It still shocks me every time I feel the temperature of the ocean here. I keep expecting there to be a cold sting I have to get used to before swimming, but it is warm and comfortable each time!
We loved how clear the water was and Daxton had a blast swimming on his own. He even started to blow a few bubbles.
After our swim Daxton and Dallas had a fun time building sand castles as I sat back, relaxed, and read a book. It was a wonderful morning for sure!
He was pretty proud of himself for stealing Daddy's hat!
After we finished up at the beach, we headed over to Jaxson's for a VERY yummy lunch. They had popcorn waiting for us as we sat down, yummy food, and the best ice cream sundaes ever.
It was a bit crazy, the amount of ice cream the gave us. But this little man went to town. Nothing like delicious ice cream after a hot day at the beach!
After our yummy lunch at Jaxon's, we went home, cleaned up, took naps, and then headed to Plantation Central Park for fire works. We met up with our good friends, the Bradford family, who spoiled us with popsicles and ice cream sandwiches. There was a live concert going on at the park, people playing games and soccer, and lots of kids running around. The Bradford kids were so sweet with Daxton. They chased him, wrestled with him, and pretty much entertained him the whole evening so we could chat and catch up as adults. It was a great night!
It's always a blast with the Bradford family!
Trying to get a family picture was pretty much impossible since all Dax wanted to do was run. That's probably our fault for all the ice cream he ate that day!
Daxton handled the fireworks pretty well, although he immediately wanted to be held. The city of Plantation did a pretty good job with the fireworks and we loved our view at Central Park.
It was a great day full of family time and fun friends!
