I know that most of my posts are about adventures Daxton and I go on, but I wanted to show a glimpse of what our day to day happenings looked like. To be honest we do spend a good portion of our week hanging out at home. We try to plan a couple big adventurous outings each week and then spend the rest of the time doing more local and home based activities. This is probably because the full day outings are getting more and more exhausting now that Daxton's an active strong-willed toddler.
Here are a few of the day to day activities we've done over the months of January, February, and March...
Reading LOTS of books
Pulling out all our toys and making messes in the playroom...
Going to the local library and story time...
Meeting up with friends at the local splash pad down the street from our home...
Mommy's absolute favorite...
LOTS of snuggling
Always multitasking while watching "Jake and the Neverland Pirates," whether it's playing with toys or snuggling with brown bear...
Finding new ways to play with bubbles...and our belly buttons!
Having fun buddies over for play time, snacks, and practicing sharing our toys...
Making new friends on Wednesday nights while Mommy and Daddy are at their Young Men/Young Women meetings...
Having fun in our nightly bubble bath...
Always making time for stretching and sucking on our toes...
Endless fun with bubbles!
And endless fun with stickers!
We also spend A LOT of time outside, mostly playing with our water table to cool off...
Another thing Daxton is really good at...
Shopping with mommy!
It's so much fun having a little shopping buddy.
Did I mention Daxton likes to have his buddies over??
He has spent a lot of time with these two cuties over the past few months...
Daxton also likes to make "organized" messes all over the house, but his favorite is the kitchen. Then when he's asked to clean up, he shows me his big hazel eyes to try and get out of it...sometimes it actually works!
Sometimes he even brings weapons to protect his mommy.
We had to remove our massive tree in the front yard. We found out that there were opossums living in it and also signs of termite damage. It was a little frustrating when we found out, but we ended up loving the big open view now...and the lack of seeds and other debris falling from the tree.
Daxton sat and watched with daddy for over 30 minutes.
We also started going to a monthly story time and art project play group. They are mostly friends from our church and it's been a lot of fun to get to know everyone better and make new friends. The below pictures are from our March St. Patty's Day activity. We made colorful noodle necklaces and had a blast.
Daxton took his job of stringing the noodles very seriously...
These last few pictures are some of my favorites over the past few months...
Laying in the hammock during the "winter", coloring with new friends at church, playing Grandma Liz's piano, taking over mom and dad's bed, and showing off "clothing optional" home.
