Girls' Trip to Disney April 2016: Day 1

We have lived in Florida for almost 5 years now and have been annual pass members at Disney World for just as long 😂
I fully realize that it's a bit ridiculous that Daxton has learned measurement by height requirements for rides at Disney, time efficiency by scheduling fast passes with me, and equates having a playdate at Disney to be just as normal as at a playground.

A couple years ago, while we were living in south florida, there were four of us girls that all had annual passes together and made monthly trips up to Disney together.  We were pretty much the stroller brigade toting all our kids into the parks, with our strollers loaded with food, clothes, and whatever we could possibly need.  Daxton and I loved our Disney trips with the girls, but they were even more magical when we could piggy back off of Daddy's work trips as well.  At the time Dallas had several clients in the Orlando area and was required to travel there frequently.  In order to see daddy, we would travel with him.  We'd spend the day at Disney and then meet up with daddy for dinner and hotel in the evenings.  On one of these work trips, we were able to combine a girls trip to Disney as well.

Since we were already up in Orlando, Daxton and I decided to do a day at Epcot before the girls arrived.

All our magic bands 😂

One of Daxton's favorite things to do was ride the trams and with a big stroller it's pretty difficult to fold up, so we rarely ride it.  It was nice to not have to hurry and take our time, by riding the tram.  You can obviously see in the picture above...Dax loves the tram!

My favorite time of year to visit Epcot is during the festival of flowers.  Epcot does such an incredible job of decorating the entire park with the most gorgeous topiaries, flowers, and gardens.

So in love with all the different colorful flowers!

A sun made out of sunflowers 😉

One of Daxton and I's favorite rides is Living With the Land.  It's a slow paced boat ride and we always ask to sit in the front.  It gives the most gorgeous views of all the different plants and gardens they grow.  It also talks about how we can better protect our planet.  My nature loving nerdy teacher heart is so full on that ride!

Daxton's favorite ride (2 years ago 😉) was Finding Nemo.  The ride does such a great job of integrating fun technology and movie characters, to real sea life.  The ride drops you off in the middle of a large aquarium, where we spent the next hour looking at all the different sea animals.  Daxton loved getting a close look at a sea star eating it's lunch.

Other highlights from our fun day at Epcot...

Playing in the Shark playground

Showing off those adorable lips while waiting for characters

Meeting Joy and Sadness for the first time!!

Touching every single button on the console

And last but not least, riding the monorail over to Magic Kingdom!  Dax loves the monorail like he loves the tram.  We ended up riding a couple rides at Magic Kingdom and then rode the monorail back to Epcot to pick up our car.
It was a pretty great first day to our week at disney!
