Adams Family Visits for the Holidays: Christmas (December 2015)

Like I mentioned in the previous posts, my parents, two little brothers, and a sister in law, were all able to join us in Florida last Christmas for the holiday break.  It was such an incredible feeling having our home full with laughter and family.  We had spent the first couple days of our break visiting Zoo Miami and the Everglades Alligator tour, so we decided to spend the next couple slowing things down and simply enjoying the holiday season.  We went last minute gift shopping, relaxing at home, and getting things ready for Christmas.

Love our little family

Daxton and Daddy had fun putting together one of Daxton's preschool crafts.  Kimberly was so sweet to keep all the pieces for him so he could complete it at home.  The nativity turned out so cute.

Daxton also found a new place to carry his tools around the house...

The day before Christmas Eve, Gel was the best sis in law ever!  She colored my hair and did a fantastic job, so I didn't have to have multicolored grown out roots any more.  She's pretty much amazing!

On Christmas Eve we had our traditional meal with the missionaries.  I love how this tradition started way back to when I was just a baby and now each of us siblings have incorporated it into our homes.  We got the missionaries simple presents and then stuffed them with yummy food.  It turned out Elder Tanner was cousins with Stuart's college roommate.  What a small world!

After dinner we put everyone to work by wrapping presents.  Every year we sponsor a family in need and then drop off presents anonymously.  When back in Washington, we would join in the "drop and run" of the presents, but here in Florida that's not the safest idea.  So we had the missionaries deliver all the presents.
It was so much fun getting everyone involved in wrapping presents and organizing them into boxes for the family in need.  It felt like Santa's workshop!
Dax loved being on bow duty with Uncle Bradley.

Our super helpful Elders this year:

Everything ready to be delivered!

After everything was cleaned up, Stuart, Gel, Dax, Dallas, and I decided we wanted to do one more Christmas Eve activity before heading to bed.  We drove up the road and went to the Trade Winds festival of lights.  It was a drive through light show, with several different light displays along the side of the road.  It was pretty cute and Dax loved standing up through the sunroof during our drive.

Everything set up and ready for Christmas!

Santa was good to us this year, especially Daxton!

Super happy Christmas morning

Santa brought him a new tool bench with a whole bunch of new tools.  He could not have been more excited!

Opening presents Christmas morning
One of Daxton's favorites was the toot gun from Uncle Stuart.

Highlights from Christmas presents...
poop emoji pillows, tshirt with a cat riding a shark, baby girl clothes, tickets for mom and dad to see La Nouba in Orlando, and new art work for Dallas's office.

Christmas day was spent opening presents, relaxing, eating yummy food, playing games, and building a couple gingerbread houses.  It was truly a perfect day and we loved having family stay with us for the holidays!
