Richard Family Visits: Day Two--Everglades Alligator Farm

You can't come to Florida and not see an alligator, so for our second day of adventures with my little brother's family, Daxton and I brought them down to Everglades Alligator Farm.  Even though it's almost an hours drive, it's by far the most fun of all the airboat rides we've been on.  It was a bit chilly so we all opted on getting ponchos to make sure we weren't walking around wet afterwards.  The only bench open was on the very back row, which was much louder than what we were used to, but on the good side we hardly got wet.

Here are some pics from the GoPro...

After our fun, wet ride, we explored the rest of the Alligator farm...starting with the Alligator wrestling show.  I can't even remember how many times we've seen the same wrestling moves, but I have to admit it doesn't get old.  I also love hearing all the different facts about both alligators and crocodiles.  I'm quite the expert on reptiles as a result...

Showing off some pretty awesome skills...and sharp teeth!

After the wrestling show we were all able to hold a baby alligator.  Emma was a bit nervous, but Nora held one with assistance and even pretended to kiss him with me.  I love Richard's face in the pic below!

After holding the baby alligator, we explored the other exhibits and enclosures.  We saw lots of different snakes, lizards, turtles, gators of all ages, and even a Florida panther.  The kids were so cute hugging each other and holding hands walking from one enclosure to the next.

That's a ton of gators behind them!

Such silly kiddos!
After a fun wet day exploring the Everglades Alligator Farm, we dropped by the Robert Is Here farmers market for the most incredible fresh shakes.  Even though it was a bit rainy we still had a ton of fun.  After shakes, Richard decided to drive south a few miles to check out Key Largo, but sadly they couldn't see much since the weather wasn't the best.  That night Dallas took Richard to a hockey game for guys night out while Leisha and I curled up warmly at home relaxing with the kids in bed.  It was a great second day of adventures!
