July 4th Celebrations (2015)

South Florida is a 6.5 hour flight to see my family...
Needless to say, we are very far from my family.
Since living here the past 4 years, we've had the amazing blessing to create our own Floridian family.  They've become some of our closest friends and have emotionally "saved" us on several levels.  We've been blessed with incredible friends throughout the years and that hasn't changed since moving to Fort Lauderdale.

For the July 4th celebrations, we decided to have our Floridian family over for a fun BBQ, swimming, and fireworks.  It was a great day filled with fun, yummy foods, great company, and laughter...a perfect July 4th!

Trying to get a family selfie...with a three year old...

Top right: younger boys (Thomas, Julian, Aiden, Daxton, and Joey)
Bottom left: older kids (James, Noah, Tati, Lucy, Isaac)
Bottom right: the boys (Carlos, Danny, Dallas, Adam, McKendi)

We blew up the pool so the kids could swim and do water guns.  They had a blast and helped cool them off in the heat.

Aiden catching frogs, Joey blowing bubbles, and Daxton devouring watermelon.

While the little kids swam, we spent the day playing games, eating yummy food, and catching up.

Alex made a delicious Ice Cream cake to help celebrate Tati's birthday.  Daxton's mind was blown when he saw an entire cake made of ice cream!

As the sun set, we made our way over to Plantation's big July 4th celebration at Central Park.  Daxton had a ton of fun checking out the fire trucks and playing catch with daddy as we waited for the fireworks to start.

Our whole crazy group!
It was such a great Holiday spent with our Floridian family!
