Peter Pan 360 Theatre

Friday morning (July 16th) I woke up with a killer burn from our previous Muir Beach day of fun with no sunscreen.  Janelle and Jason were kind enough to let me stay behind at home trying to cool off under the air conditioner and lathering the Aloe Vera.
They hopped on the BART and met up with Jason's old roommate that used to live in Provo for lunch at the Ferry building.
After lunch they explored the rooftop of a nearby high-rise and got some great shots of the Embarcadero.  Seriously, I love this city and am constantly amazed at it's beauty!

I met up with them later that evening for the London production of Peter Pan playing across from the ferry building.
The theatre was constructed in a 360 degree pavilion with the stage in the center of the circular space.  In the picture above you can see the top of the white tent on the upper left side.
The amazing part about the production is they use the upper ceiling of the tent as a projection screen for incredible CGI effects throughout the performance.
It was so cool how the actors flew through the sky and it felt like you were right there next to them.
The best way to describe it would be like riding on the Soarin' California ride at California Adventures in Anaheim.
Amazing...

Dallas was able to meet us for the show after work.
The pavilion is set up right next to his office building so it worked out perfectly.

Jason and I waiting patiently for Dallas.  Pretty much sums up our friendship!

The lighting isn't the best since the sun was setting, but here's the tent and box office.  It's an outdoor theatre, but obviously is built for all weather conditions.  It had an adjoining cafe and gift shop where we got popcorn at intermission.

Photography was not allowed in the theatre, but I convinced Jason to snap a few during the curtain call.  We were on the second row...AWESOME seats!  (Thank you Travelzoo for the half-off coupons!)

We were all really impressed with the production and I have to admit there were a few times where I forgot I was a 30 year old woman instead of a child whom desperately believes in ferries!
If you are in the area and have the chance to see it, go; it's totally worth the cost!
